Blue Lagoon day-trip budget calculator

Estimate your whole group's day using actual boat quotes and your own allowances. This calculator does not search live fares or convert currencies.

How to use the calculator

  1. Count everyone travelling, including children, and use USD throughout.
  2. Enter the complete boat or cruise quote for your party, including the correct child tickets.
  3. Add only costs not already included in that quote, then choose a contingency.
  4. Calculate, compare the assumptions, and download or share your worksheet.
Enter your own quotes to calculate a budget.

What the result includes

Subtotal = group boat quote + group extra transport + (travellers × food allowance) + group other costs. Add subtotal × contingency / 100, then divide by travellers for the per-person figure. The free official landing pass is separate from boat transport; confirm the access rules for your visit.

Zero amounts are incomplete or deliberately excluded, not proof of a free trip. Do not add included transfers or meals twice. Shared links contain the amounts you entered; do not add personal itinerary information. Entries stay in your browser unless you share or export them.

A shared boat trip to the Blue Lagoon costs from about $27 to $50 per person in October 2026, with a median of about $37 for classic cruises and $45 for speedboats. Gozo-based half-day cruises are the cheapest category (median $33), land-and-sea Gozo jeep or buggy days cost around $95, and private boats start from about $178 per group, which works out at roughly $30–40 per person when full. We analysed 35 Blue Lagoon and Comino tours listed on GetYourGuide on 15–16 October 2026.

How we built the data set

We recorded every Blue Lagoon and Comino tour shown on GetYourGuide’s Blue Lagoon listings over two days in October 2026: 35 tours with a combined 71,696 reviews. For each we noted the lowest “from” price in US dollars, any struck-through previous price, the rating and the number of reviews, and whether the price is per person or per group. We then grouped tours by type. Prices are starting prices; the price on your date may be higher in July and August or for add-ons like lunch or transfers.

  • 27 tours are priced per person; 8 are priced per group or vehicle.
  • Per-person prices range from $27 to $151, with a median of $45 and an average of about $63 (pulled up by Gozo jeep and jet ski tours).
  • Ratings range from 4.2 to 4.9; the average is 4.6, and 11 tours score 4.8 or higher.

Prices by tour type

Tour type Tours Lowest Median Highest Reviews
Classic cruise from Malta (often with Gozo or caves) 8 $27 $37 $50 57,434
Half-day cruise from Gozo 3 $30 $33 $39 1,553
Catamaran 2 $29 $49 $69 710
Speedboat or powerboat 5 $34 $45 $73 791
Gozo jeep, UTV, buggy, ATV or tuk-tuk day 8 $73 $95 $151 9,423
Guided jet ski 1 $144 $144 $144 208
Self-drive buggy (per vehicle) 2 $129 $129 $129 106
Private boat (per group) 6 $178 $279 $706 1,471

Two things stand out. First, classic cruises account for about 80% of the reviews in this historical sample. Review counts are not a measurement of current bookings, market demand or search volume. Second, the price jump from a cruise to a speedboat is small (about $8 at the median), so a speedboat may merit comparison, but group size, route, facilities and total price depend on the selected product.

Private boats: cheaper than they look

Private boats are listed per group, which makes them look expensive. Divide by the maximum group size and the picture changes:

Private tour From, per group Max group Per person when full Rating
Comino, Blue Lagoon Private Speed Boat Tour $178 6 about $30 4.9 (424)
Private Blue Lagoon, Crystal Lagoon & Sea Caves Tour $197 6 about $33 4.8 (214)
Crystal/Blue Lagoon, Comino & Gozo Private Boat Trip $279 7 about $40 4.9 (391)
Private Boat Cruise with Caves, Beaches & Swim Stops $279 7 about $40 4.9 (330)
Blue Lagoon, Comino & Gozo – Private Boat Experience $320 9 about $36 4.6 (84)
Full Day Private Charter on a Sailing Yacht $706 9 about $78 4.9 (28)

For a group of six, the Comino, Blue Lagoon Private Speed Boat Tour costs about the same per head as a shared cruise, and you choose when to arrive, which matters now that the lagoon runs timed slots. Private boats are also among the highest-rated categories, averaging about 4.8. Families should weigh this up; see the Blue Lagoon with kids.

What the price usually includes

Comparing headline prices only works if you compare like with like. Before you book, check these points on the listing:

  • Hotel transfer: some cruises and most Gozo jeep and buggy days include pick-up; many boat-only trips start at the pier.
  • Lunch and drinks: Gozo land tours typically include lunch, which partly explains their $90–109 price; catamaran trips may include drinks.
  • Gozo stop: combo cruises spend time on Gozo, which means less time at the lagoon itself.
  • Extras on site: sunbeds, umbrellas and snacks at the Blue Lagoon are never included and are paid in cash.

Tours versus going it alone

The independent route is still cheapest for a long day: a return Comino ferry from Ċirkewwa costs around $14.63–$16.88 in 2026, plus a few euros for the bus. But you spend more time travelling, and you do not see the caves or the Crystal Lagoon. A cruise at $27–39 adds the coastline, caves and often Gozo for roughly double the ferry fare. Our guide on how to get to the Blue Lagoon compares the two in detail.

Whatever you choose, the lagoon itself is free, but in summer 2026 you need a free timed pass to land: see our booking rules explainer.
